The Gospel {Good News}
In the beginning, God created man and women in His own image. God walked and talked with man. Everything was in perfect harmony - God and man lived in perfect communion, and nothing separated man from God. There was perfect love, wholeness, peace, unity, joy, fulfillment... So what happened from then until now? Why is there so much sorrow, hatred, wickedness, sickness and pain? Simply, man chose to sin and disobey God's only command. God's only command was to not eat of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. He said that in the day you eat of it, you will die. Adam and Eve didn't die immediately (or there would be no more humanity!) but they did die spiritually. See, we are created as three parts (just like God is three parts)...we are spirit, have a soul and live in a body. We commune and connect to God with our spirit. When man chose to sin, his spirit died. Therefore, he had no connection with God anymore. Sin separates us from God - it creates a huge chasm between us and God because God is absolutely and entirely perfect and cannot tolerate any sin. God alone can create the standard for good - not us - and His standard is total perfection. Can anyone measure up? No! Each of us has sinned and fallen short of God's glory. We each stand before God as criminals because we have fallen so short of his standard of total perfection. God has to judge sin and he has to stand by his Word that sin demands death (eternal hell). Without God's intervention, man would be hopelessly lost.
But God loves people so much and doesn't want to send people to hell. He has a problem on his hands because he is totally righteous and totally loving.
Take this story as an example...years ago there was a captain of a ship. He had been captaining a ship for many years and had always wanted to take his mother on one of his adventures overseas. Since his mother was getting very old and about to die, he decided it was time to take her on the ship. Everyone worked hard to prepare the ship and the crew packs just enough food for the two week journey across the sea. Half way into the journey, the chef ran to the captain and said, "Someone is stealing food from the kitchen!" So the captain got everyone together and told them, "If anyone steals food again, they will be whipped 30 times at the mast." Two days later the chef came back and told the captain, "Someone took food again, but this time we caught them!" Relieved that the criminal was caught, the captain said, "Bring them out to be whipped." But the chef replied, "There's only one problem, Captain, the criminal is your mother." The captain's heart sank because he knew if his mother would be whipped, she would die, but he also knew that if he didn't remain true to his word, he would lose his credibility and respect as captain. He was obviously in such a dilemma and didn't know what to do - either be true to his word or see his beloved mother die. Eventually, he came to a decision and said, "Tie her to the mast and whip her." Then, just as the sailors raised their whips to strike his mother, the captain jumped in front and received all of the whippings in his mother's place. Therefore, he remained true to his word - the punishment was dealt, but the captain took it on himself instead.
That's a good picture of what Jesus did for us. Even though it's you and I who are guilty of death and punishment, Jesus stepped in our place and took it for us. Therefore, God is still true to his word that sin demands death, but instead of pouring his judgements out on you and I, he poured them out on his sinless son. This is the most beautiful thing that has ever happened in all of history. Because Jesus lived a sinless life, he could be a perfect sacrifice. God could remain true to his word and punish death, yet without wiping out humanity. So Jesus died on the cross like a criminal in our place. He endured the wrath of God against sin for you and I. It should have been us on that cross, but because of the amazing love of God, it wasn't. If you want to know how horrible sin is, look at Jesus, who was beaten beyond recognition and crucified and separated from God in hell to take care of our sin problem. Now, if we repent of our sins (turn away from our sins) and place our faith in Jesus Christ alone, we can be saved and enter back into a relationship with God. God once again breathes his spirit into us (through the Holy Spirit) and we become alive to God. We are given the Holy Spirit to indwell us and empower us to follow him. His ways are truly the best way and lead to life and peace! The devil comes only to steal, kill and destroy but Jesus has come to give life and life abundantly! (John 10:10)
This is the Good News that compels us to go into all the world so that everyone can hear and have a chance to respond to this incredible love!

Do you know where you will go when you die? To repent and follow Christ or go your own way is the most important decision you will make in life. You are either on the path to heaven or the path that leads to hell- there's no in between. May you choose Jesus who died to save you from sin and destruction and give you life and eternity with Him!
- That God created all things.
- That the Bible is God's inspired Word.
- In God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

Our Beliefs - Was wir glauben
